NewerTech today announced the availability of Voyager, the world's first quad-interface SATA I/II Hard Drive Docking Station with support for FireWire 800/400, USB 2.0, and eSATA connectivity. The device basically turns any 2.5" or 3.5" Serial ATA (SATA) I/II hard drive up to 2.0TB into a fully bootable and hot-swappable external drive solution. It also includes all supported interface connector cables and an auto-switching power supply for worldwide compatibility. The NewerTech Voyager is priced at $99.95.

I would love to have one for knocking out clones, but not for that price. And can we get Apple to switch the Apple TV to SATA already? This would be handy for knocking those out as well.

At Computer Room I believe thay have one set up for getting data off old hard drives and running diagnostics. They seem to be a good device for IT, just set up one system (running Linux of course) and you can just pull out the HDD from the PC, test it, and either have your diagnosis or be closer to one.

I have a similar one from Rosewill for IDE drives. I bought it back when I upgraded the hard drive in my Apple TV drive. That being said, I think these are a more organized and secure solution. Plus, you can use it more as a regular enclosure instead of having cables running everywhere. I would actually keep one of these out on my desktop.
