You can find most of the chatter about it in the official skype forums. The alpha is already being used internal and they even had a public demonstration of it. The beta was rumored to be out end of aug. but hit a delay, so I think it shouldn't be too far off from beta..

I'll keep an eye out. I'm not really a big Skype user. Glad to hear they are waiting to launch it on all platforms. Something Google should have done with Google talk.
