KavaSoft today announced the release of KavaMovies 1.0, a program that organizes your movies into a single database. According to the company, KavaMovies lets you organize the movies you've seen, the movies you want to see, and the movies in your collection. It also connects to the Internet and downloads tons of information about each of your movies in real time. KavaMovies is priced at $35 ($25 using coupon code MOVIEFAN), and requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later. You can try all the features of KavaMovies with up to fifty movies for free.

This is kind of a nice application, but I don't think it's worth $35. I would also say that it needs some built-in movie trailers from the net. I didn't see them around anywhere.

Plex already does most, if not all of that stuff, and its free.

Maybe not quite as user friendly. Yet, anyway.

I would recommend DVDPedia for movie cataloging. It even has a plug-in for Front Row now.
