Hi
I would appreciate some advice on a change of Mac.
I've currently got one of the old Mini Macs (1.42 Ghz Power PC G4, with 1 GB DDR RAM), its a tad slow for me now and I'm considering an upgrade.
I see my choices as buying a new Mini Mac with the most RAM and fastest processor, this would allow me to keep my monitor keyboard etc - can't see the advantage in buying the IMac (monitor is fairly new and more than big enough etc).
Or should I consider buying a second hand Mac Pro (say a one to two years old ) that has a reasonable spec , and I could upgrade the hardware as I need to over time?
What would you recommend in terms of a Mac Pro - mainly photo shop work and a little video. _________________ Regards,

You will get a big speed increase over a stock G4/1.42ghz mini if you buy even the lower priced Intel mini and equip it with 2gb RAM and a 7200rpm drive. That's what I have and it's much faster than our G4 mini. But both have low level graphics cards. If your photoshop work is very graphic-intensive you might do better with even a new MacBook, hooked to your existing equipment. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT
