I have a Lacie 40 gig external USB drive. It is formated NTFS for my PC (Windows XT) so I can use it with the Mini as a read only drive. Decided to reformat it as FAT or FAT 32 to make it read/write with the Mini. Tried it on the PC and after running all the way through the process the format fails with a message something like "drive to large to format FAT". Ideas? I don't find FORMAT in the index of my MAC Mini manual.

Used Partition Magic on the PC to
format the drive as a FAT32 drive. Did it in about 3 seconds....

You could have also formatted it FAT32 from the Mac (i.e. DiskUtil). The problem with MS windows XP is that it natively limits FAT32 partitions to 32GB. Glad you got it worked out with Partition Magic.
