Apple today unveiled an all new MacBook family. The new MacBook and 15-inch MacBook Pro both have a precision unibody enclosure crafted from a single block of aluminum, resulting in thinner and more durable designs. In addition, every member of the new MacBook family includes state of the art NVIDIA graphics, brilliant instant-on LED-backlit displays and new large glass Multi-Touch trackpads that offer almost 40 percent more tracking area and support more Multi-Touch gestures.

I can't believe Apple dumped firewire on the Macbook. That is just unbelievable. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

I'd have to agree. As much as I like the refresh from almost all angles, the lack of Firewire on MacBooks blows. |

I guess it's a glossy world and we just live in it. I can understand the MacBook staying glossy, but I think Apple made a huge mistake by forcing users to go glossy with the MacBook Pro. Then you come out with a 24" glossy display to match. Man, I'm going to hold onto my current MacBook Pro until the end of time. |

A MBP is easy. Try replacing the keyboard on one or even a HD in an older iBook G3, now those things were impossible.
I can plunk a HD in a MBP in about 20 mins.....

That is definitely one of the nice things about the new MacBook Pros. They are much easier to upgrade now. I spent like an hour or two a few weeks ago putting a 320GB hard drive in mine. Let me tell you, it was a nerve-racking experience.

I can as well (well maybe 35 or 40 minutes), but it's not an "easy" process for most people. Also, the top case never seems to go back on perfectly with no bends.
I just think the new changes are a solid improvement when it comes to HDD/Battery/RAM swaps. |

| I'm not a buying one, but I like the specs of the MacBook. I just wish that it had a matte screen and firewire. I'm also interested in giving the glass trackpad a tryout. That button action looks sort of strange at first glance. |
