So, here it is, tell me what you think:
Yup! That's a 750GB Seagate HD in a OWC enclosure connected to the ATV! Then there is my Logitech Z-5450 Surround and the Pace Micro HD PVR! oh, yeah and my baby, a Panasonic 42" Plasma!

Nice clean setup Custom shelving? Wish I was allowed to mount mine like that.
You should look for some white cables, make them blend in more to the wall. |

Dude, that looks totally awesome!
I love the shelves and how they are positioned. Where did you get them? Beautiful job with the wiring and outlets as well. That second picture really shows it off. Nice job man! |

Looks fantastic! I'd love to be able to do that, but, my small children would rip them off the wall in seconds!
Rookie question: how have you got that 750Gb drive attached? Does it contain all your movie files? I've got mine on external drives attached to my mini and then stream what won't fit on the ATV. Would be cool if I could keep them all on a secondary drive attached directly to the ATV (therefore never having to wirelessly stream over my slow network) as I never watch them on the mini.
Good work! |

Nice job Hacker! You should start doing custom Apple TV installs.
How long did it take you to set everything up?
I believe that Hacker is using aTV Flash gibmini. It opens up the USB port for external storage. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Thanks g5g5. I've seen loads of posts about that, but I must admit that I didn't look too closely as I assumed it was just for playing different file formats. I will revisit this now.
Cheers! |

I have a 3yr old and a 10yr old. Once I finished I told them if they touched anything on "my" wall I would break their A_ _ ! So far so good!

It is connected via USB. I am using ATVFlash to accomplish this. It contains a lot of my movie files but, also, TV Shows and tons of other misc. video stuff. _________________ Automotive Digital Marketing

Total time from laying it all out to final screw turn was about 8 hours. That doesn't include actually making the custom shelves. They took about 3 hours to make.
Total cost for the shelves was about $26! I found scrap wood at my folks house so all I had to buy was the aluminum angle, carriage bolts, toggle bolts and aluminum flat bar.
Correct indeed! I am using ATFlash, it works great (even with iTunes 8 ) and putting movies on it is easy, peasy with Cyberduck. _________________ Automotive Digital Marketing
