Great that there is an upgrade, but doesn't it seem like RAW is a pain in the butt? My Nikon D50 has been supported for some time so I have no issues. Why is it that there has to be so many standards for RAW? It would be nice if one standard could be agreed upon. By looking at things it appears that even a given Camera manufacturer has different standards for RAW throughout their own cameras.

| I agree BB. It seems like there should be a default standard"s" for the RAW format. Like you said, these companies can't even stick with one throughout their own product line. Is there is even an organization out there pushing for this? I think Adobe and Microsoft tried to put something together at one time without much success. I could be wrong about that one though. |

DNG is the "standard" Adobe is pushing for. Personally I store nothing in DNG format yet. _________________ MacMini 2.0GHz C2D (2009)

Forgive my ignorance (I only have a Canon PowerShot A60 which I use maybe three or four times a year), but why couldn't they pick 24-bit PNG as the RAW format?
What's so special about "raw" formats? (aside from not having any lossy compression). _________________ Mac mini 2010 (Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz/8 GiB)
