New Mac Mini running OS X 10.4.2 and a Canon CanoScan LiDE 20 Scanner.

I have downloaded the driver and the desktop software for the scanner and attempted to install them as instructed - but it the Mac IMAGE CAPTURE software doesn't seem to recognize the scanner.

I couldn't find a Plug-In folder for the IMAGE CAPTURE software, and none of the articles on the Canon site see to relate to my speciifc problem.

Any help or advice would be appreciated...TIA!

Sometimes you have to install the software first and then connect the device. Were you prompted to do this in the instructions? Do you know if Canon has updated the drivers for Tiger?

Yup, I followed the instructions...but don't know if they have updated the drivers for tiger yet.

I'll look into it.

Thanks.

MJRBIM,

I'm using a LiDE 35, ScanGear CS 7.7.0 and Mac OS 10.4.2 and it all works perfectly.

In short: The driver is the ScanGear CS Installer. You should then be able to find your scanner in Image Capture (Devices->Browse and then look under 'TWAIN devices').

NOTE: Remember to release the lock mechanism under the scanner, otherwise it'll just make nasty noises!

Have fun,

Adam

(hopefully) unnecessary waffle:-

I found the driver on the CD with my LiDE 35 was newer than the one available for download from canon when I first installed (months ago).

I just ran the installer on my Cube and the installer log file lists these items (you should end up with a similar list of stuff).
