|
|
ive been playing around with sharing my public folder via sharing in the system preferences.
ive been trying to access my macbooks public folder from my mac mini. i go to the network in finder select my macbooks name and click connect.
dialogue box comes up and will only let me access as a registered user.
ive typed in admin password, my password for mac mini and macbook.
this error notice comes up:
"Connection Failed
Unknown user, incorrect password, or login is disabled. Please retype the name and password or contact the server's administrator"
what username and password do i use? why can i not log in as a guest? |

hmmm....quite puzzling
I know that you can only access the sharing folder of your macbook as a guest if you have activated a guest account on the macbook
Sorry I can't offer more help _________________ 2.2 GHz C2D MacBook/2 GB RAM/5400 rpm 120 GB HD

Pull up the "Get Info" on your public folder and make sure it is not locked and that others have write (or whatever you choose) permission. _________________ Mac Book 2.1 Ghz (Penryn) 10.6.7 4Gb DDR2
