Microsoft Updates Office 2008 and 2004

Microsoft today announced the release of Office 2008 for Mac 12.1.2 and Office 2004 for Mac 11.5.1. According to the company, the updates contain several improvements to enhance stability and performance. They also fix vulnerabilities that an attacker can use to overwrite the contents of your computer's memory with malicious code. Office 2008 for Mac 12.1.2 requires Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later. | Cool i am glad to see them still updating office 2004 but this also scares the heck out of me that a security flaw is still there in both 2008 and 2004 and they have to release a update. |

Yup, opens considerably faster with the update (at least on my mini anyway).

Ditto. This is the first update that did anything for me. Now Word opens about as fast as the 2004 version running in Rosetta. Ironic since I bought 2008 in the first place to get faster app startup, which you would expect going from Rosetta to Universal, right?  _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

| I'd really like it if they gave us at least the most important Excel plug-ins, like megastat for example. ...that way I don't have to virtualize. |
