| Not sure if this is the right place, but here goes. The 1-year warranty is about up on my 802.11n Airport Extreme base station. It's in fine working order, but I've always been concerned about the heat it generates. Are there affordable options to extend its warranty? |

afaik there is no special applecare warranty for airpot extreme. i believe that if you own applecare for a computer this covers you airport too.
but maybe somebody can verify this.
apples routers do seem to get hot. i know from my own express. others have noted that time capsule gets quite hot too. |

All routers get hot, some get hotter than others, but if it is unbarable to touch with your hand then it's a general rule that it's too hot and requires cooling when talking about most networking equipment. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

I think you are right. I'm going to call Apple and check on the terms.

I haven't owned that may routers. I just know that it runs a lot warmer than my old Belkin. Even more so when ethernet traffic gets heavy. |
