Macessity Intros SlimKey V2 Stand
Tuesday, July 1, 2008
Posted by: Charles
Macessity tonight introduced the SlimKey V2 Stand, a new monitor stand designed specifically for owners of the Apple aluminum keyboard. So, how does this new stand differ from the original SlimKey Stand? Well, Macessity added a powered 4-port USB 2.0 hub to the right side of the stand. According to the company, this feature was requested by a lot of customers. The stand itself is constructed out of the same 0.1085" thick steel and powder-coated in aluminum color matching that of the iMac, Apple Cinema Display and Mac mini. It spreads out the entire length of the Apple aluminum keyboard and 9" deep, creating a sturdy structure that will support monitors weighing up to 35 pounds.
The SlimKey V2 Stand will begin shipping later this month. It has a suggested retail price of $64.99.

I wouldn't mind having one, but I'm not willing to pay $65 dollars. Especially seeing the one with front ports is $5 dollars less. I mean, what's the real difference? _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

I think this is a better version than having the ports on the front, only, I could use 6 ports! Matter is, I have 2 printers, USB cam, scanner, a TomTom dock, keyboard, Logitech mouse (there must be more!) and even with a NT MiniMate and the mini having 4 USB ports, it still seems nog enough. Right now a Belkin 6 ports hub is on my desk also using 5 ports, the mini is full and the NT has only a side port open, as it is in a not handy spot.
I will be in the States from the 22th, I wonder if they will be available for shipping than... _________________ ___________________Jim©
