I did a little searching on Samsung's site and came up with a driver. It says Samsung U.S.A does not provide MAC OS driver support. Did you try this one? _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

There are some comments about installation in the release notes and read before installation RTFs. Have you followed those? It sounds like there is bug and you need to delete your Samsung folder in Library/Printers.
Samsung Laser Printer Driver Installation Note
1. You will need an authorization to install Samsung Mac OS X printer drivers. Please Click the lock to make change on the installer.
This version allows you to use all of Samsung Laser Printers(USB standard models) on Mac OS X 10.2 or later
2. This driver is released version.
3.Method of updating the new driver.
- Execute the Print Center
- Remove the installed driver.
- Go to "Library/Printers" folder

About Print Center
- There could be a problem when you add your printer at first time after installing the driver.
This problem is due to the bug of Print Center of Mac OS X.
To avoid the problem, please check the version of the driver after adding your printer.
If the version is not V2.5, please follow the below steps
1. Delete the printer on Print Center Dialog
2. Quit Print Center.
3. Reload Print Center.
4. Add your printer again.
- Delete the "SAMSUNG" folder.
- Execute new driver's install program..
(click the samsung printer driver )

| That still does not work. The problem is, when i install the drivers, my printer model does not show on the list. Ive tried all the models on the list and none seem to work. The printer warms up but nothing comes out. |

Doesn't it give you an option for Other on the list? Go to your Library > Printers > Samsung and select the GDIPMRT.plugin. If that doesn't work try one of the other two. This is the best advice I can give without having the printer in front of me. I have an HP printer. Maybe someone else will have some better advice if that doesn't work. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

I got bored of waiting for Samsung to add support for Tiger for my ML-1210 and installed the linux stuff instead. The Panther driver on their global download site works in Panther, but seems to be ignored by Tiger.
Installing Linux Stuff:-
1. Install samsung-gdi-foomatic linked to from this page:
http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/samsung-gdi/
2. EITHER the version of espgs linked to from the above page or the latest one at:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gimp-print/espgs-7.07.1.ppc.dmg?download
3. Open printer utility (quit and reopen if necessary); click "Add" and select Samsung and then the 1210 driver.
Overall the linux stuff doesn't do as good a job at grey scale as Samsung's own driver did under Panther (output is too pale), but it's reliable and there's no tinkering, restarting or other such nonsense involved in the install process!
Ta,
Adam. |
