Linksys Announces Setup Support for Mac OS X

Linksys today announced that it is now supporting router setup for Mac OS X with its Linksys EasyLink Advisor (LELA) Setup Wizard. According to the company, LELA helps take away the hassle and complexity of setting up a router by using simple easy-to-understand terminology and illustrations to guide consumers through the process. The software is currently available for select Linksys Wireless Routers, including the WRT310N, WRT160N, WRT110, and WRT54G2. Going forward, new Linksys products will ship with a LELA setup disc that includes both PC and Mac Setup Wizards.

That sounds good to me. I've been thinking about buying the WRT310N with gigabit for a couple weeks. It seems like a nice router for around a $100 dollars. Is anyone here using one?

I got one a few weeks ago. Great for sending files back form the mini to the macbook. Setup on my mac was pretty simple. All I did was use the ip address that all routers use, logged in, and made my settings from the webpage. I can se why some would love for the wizard to work for macs but IMHO it is pretty simple to set up as it stands.

The strength realy surprised me. I had a old Linksys repeater for the old blue brick that I had before this one. But I haven't had to plug it in. The one problem with it is that it does not stack with my old hardware. I miss the old form factor but hey, what are ya gonna do right.

It's always nice to see another big company like Linksys come around for Mac users.

Now if we can just get Lexmark to wite some drivers for their older printers I'll be a happy man.

Sounds good untill your service provider decides to change which routers you can use.

I live in kent wa because how the phone lines are rigged here we can only get comcast broadband well comcast where i live at has sent e-mails to us warning they are changing from linksys routers to netgear routers so we had to change are router to keep are internet functioning well we didn't the upgrade went through and goodbye linksys router in less then 20 minutes.

I am glad to see linksys is trying to help out mac users but because i have had to many linksys routers fry or fail i decided to go to netgear anyways.

Hope they keep up the good work.
