|

A friend of mine has a G4 Mirrored Drive door 1.25Ghz PowerMac. I recently put a USB/FW PCI card in for him. He had his keyboard and mouse plugged into the old PCI USB card and I told him the PCI slots don't support deep sleep mode so he wouldn't be able to wake the machine with the mouse unless he plugged them into the built in USB ports. Here's the weird thing, he can't wake it up at all! With the keyboard and mouse plugged into the built in ports, no joy. Pressing the power button, no joy. Once it's asleep all he can do is push and hold the power button to force a shut down!
Any ideas on how to wake from sleep on this machine? _________________ Automotive Digital Marketing

Most external cards on the g4 you cannot wake from. It will just go to sleep and never wake up i had this issue with a 800 mhz g4 tower went through upgraded and turned on the power and went into sleep mode and never woke up.
I found out however.....
After some research certain cards will wake and certain cards will not and several cards you have to hack or firmware hack in order for them to function. |
