Hi All,
This might be a simple question but I can't seem to find an answer. I am about to buy an iPod Touch and the thing that bothers me about applecare is that its only for two years on the iPods. So what happens once that two years is up? Can I purchase another two years for the same price? Or is there another cover that I would have to buy? Or would I have to go elsewhere for cover? |

You can't extend it past the two years, and with iPods they tend to have battery failure near the two year mark (one study said average life of a battery was 18 months, but it might be more since they use higher capacity batteries now).

| Thanks for the reply - I figured as much so I've gone with a a monthly plan that also covers me for accidental damage - this works out an equivalent cost to the two year applecare but better cover, and it keeps going as long as I keep paying. |

lol - I think the postage might be prohibitive!! I'm in the UK.
I do have a dead 1st gen Nano lying around that just won't format - the screen shows that circle with a line through it but won't do anything else no matter what I try.
Anyway - a shiny new 'Touch is keeping me busy - I love it!!!  Contemplating jailbreaking it now - but I might just hold out till July when the app store opens!!! (no chance - I'll be jailbreaking this before the weekend I'm sure) |

I buy my iPods from Best buy since their warranty is cheap and I can walk in with the broken iPod and walk out with a new one in under 30 minutes, it doesn't cover accidental, but considering I have a 4GB 3g iPod Nano from what started out as a 1GB 1g iPod Shuffle and only had to get a new replacement plan once after the first one I'm not complaining (only issue is that the 3G nanos don'r fail as easily as the previous ones I had, darn).
