I tend to take my MBP to work and use that for most things I don't need the corporate network for. |
Jeez, I feel for you, Cypher. The thought of using Windows makes my skin crawl. I makes me wonder if there are any documented case-studies of offices or IT departments switching to Mac and seeing measurable increases in productivity.

I'm with you there, Cypher. I'm still using Tiger on my Mini, but I don't know how long I'll be able to hold out. As another member commented, more and more software releases are "Leopard Only". _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

I've not given up on the idea of ordering myself a mini for work, I just need to find a way of getting it on to one of my purchase orders. I don't tend to buy a lot of stuff from Apple stores for work.
I'll just have to try and think of a suitable project I'm working on that a mini might be suitable for, but its not easy on a chemical plant _________________ Phil

DaimajinBob, what version is that? I see you have a Core Duo Mac Mini. That should have at least iDVD '06 which works fine on Leopard. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

Did you run all the updates? I believe you need iDVD 6.0.4 or 7.0.1 to ensure Leopard compatibility. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

After you encode where does the DVD file go? _________________ Mac Mini Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16ghz / 2Gb Ram /320 GB HDD /SuperDrive/Apple Keyboard and iHome Mouse/ Panasonic 50" Plasma TV-Monitor/OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 |

In iDVD you have the option to save the encoded DVD as a disc image, or burn it directly to disc using iDVD itself. _________________ MacBook Pro 1.83GHz Core Duo, 2GB RAM, 250GB HD, Dell 802.11n card, 1.4TB external

Thanks. This is my first time using it. When I had a PC i was using Nero. It has taken me 9 hours to convert an MP4 video to DVD format _________________ Mac Mini Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16ghz / 2Gb Ram /320 GB HDD /SuperDrive/Apple Keyboard and iHome Mouse/ Panasonic 50" Plasma TV-Monitor/OS X Snow Leopard 10.6 |

You might be interested in KeyCue if you feel overwhelmed and you are a keyboard shortcut kind of person.

Thanks for the tip, its also the failing physical shortcuts in my brain, not being able to keep pace with my keyboard and mouse.

My brand new mini (w/ Superdrive; 2GB RAM) with 10.5 is very unstable. One example is that opening up System Preferences a lot of times leads to a froze (mouse & keyboard not responding and that darn System Preferences just won't launch), especially after the mini wakes up from sleep. My good old Pismo (XLR8 G4; 1GB RAM) with 10.3 is running much more stable! And it seems that the 10.5 finder is slower than 10.3! Unbelievable... :'(
Waiting for 10.6... |
