Me too. I've had way fewer issues with the combos. |

This is very strange, 10.5.3 isn't showing up in Software Update. Does any one have any idea why this is? _________________ MacBook 1.83Ghz C2D, 2GB Ram, 160GB 7200rpm HDD, OS X 10.6.5

| Is anyone else having trouble with Adium after 10.5.3? My contact list is gone and it's acting all wacky. |

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say 10.4.10. That was worst Tiger update ever! Any of you guys remember those audio pops? _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Ben, Tony, thank you. It looks like I was to blame for interrupting the downloads, by browsing the web on the Mini while the MacBook was trying to update using the Mini's net connection. Once I'd stopped my meddling, it worked fine. _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b

No problem. Glad to hear that you got it going!

That's pretty normal. Here's the explanation from Apple.

I only wish that I could apply this update. I'm still waiting for Apple to update the Mac mini. Are there any strings or lines of code in this update that hint at when that might happen? |

It's huge! This is like the largest OS X update ever. At this rate, 10.5.5 is going to be close to a gigabyte. _________________ 1.42GHz Mac mini

I've applied this to two G4's and my mini, all without problems with one minor exception relating to .Mac sync. I read somewhere that the update speeds up Safari, so I'm using it right now on the mini. My initial impression is that it is faster. It would be nice if the stalling stops on it so I can use it again in place of the slower but more reliable Firefox. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

I thought it was just my imagination, but Safari does feel a tad faster. I've never had problems with it Safari stalling though. Does this happen on certain websites or pages? |

It happened more on some pages than others, but it happened on most pages; even our venerable CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Company) news and MacNN. It was pretty pathetic. I tried various fixes I read about off the internet, but nothing worked. The problem was on every Mac I have at home; not the ones at my university. My solution was to change to Firefox, which didn't stall.
I'm typing this on my Cube on Safari. It's definitely better. And last night after upgrading my C2D mini, it was lightning fast. 123Macmini loads superfast on Safari now on both Macs. _________________ Mini 1: 2.3 ghz Core i5; 8 gb RAM, Corsair 240gb SSD, 500 gb Seagate XT

A couple of days ago, I had terrible problems with my Firewire connection, it seemed like there was a defect. Dtrange enough, the following day it was all OK. Now I read about improvement of recognising external discs. Should this be a Firewire fix too? I've updated and I did not see much difference,...yet... _________________ ___________________Jim©

Mac Help's not working. I don't know what's going on, I'm sure it was working under 10.5.2.
I've just typed "display" into the search box of Finder's drop-down help menu and it's shown me a general topic of 'displays' and five specific suggestions for what I might be looking for. If I click on any of them, the drop-down menu disappears... and that's it. No help window, nothing. _________________ Intel Mini 2.0GHz C2D (4GB/120GB/SuperDrive/10.5.8 ), 120GB WD Passport, Logitech ergo k/b
