Any ideas for something I could be trying? If not, I guess my only option is to completely reinstall Office and not download SPI.
Thanks. |

...typical Microsoft, tries to fix things but only makes them worse most of the time. You can always use iWork, it converts into office doc's if you have to. |

I've talked about Office 2008 performance with Bobaloo, but I'm actually using iWork '08. No worries about speed with that suite. It's really worked out well for me. |
I'm using iWork '08 as well. I tried downloading the update to Office 2008 and wasn't able to install it. I have the Student Teacher Edition but the update is supposed to work with it. On MaxFixit, they said the workaround was to remove Office using the uninstaller and then reinstall it, download the updater and install that before opening any Office Applications. You will also need to delete the following files:
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Microsoft Office 2008 Settings.plist
/Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/OfficePID.plist
Anyway, I did this and after I was finished, I launched Word and you know what, it's still slow. There's a word that rhymes with Word.
I will continue to use iWork '08 because I just want a word processor that doesn't suck. _________________ 2.5 GHZ i5 Mac Minu 8Gb Ram
