Apple has released Boot Camp 2.1 for Windows XP, Vista 32 bit and Vista 64 bit. According to the company, this update addresses issues and improves compatibility with Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Vista running on a Mac computer using Boot Camp. It is highly recommended for all Boot Camp users. The company also notes that Boot Camp 2.1 is required before installing Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3). Microsoft will be releasing Windows XP Service Pack 3 to the public on April 29th.

| I've been having some trouble with slow FireWire speeds in Vista with Boot Camp. I hope this update helps! |

| Thanks Hackers. You would think I would have just guess that but I'm a bit out of it today. |

Yep, it's an .exe file. You can also download it from Apple's website and run it directly in Windows.
I hate to say this, but I'm actually looking forward to Windows XP SP3 for the reported speed increase and WPA2 support. It also makes Vista look like a bigger mistake. I mean if that's possible. |

The update didn't help my issues with FireWire. It's still going very, very slow. Back to square one... |

Warning:
When getting ready for windows XP service pack 3.
Remember these items.
1. Windows XP Service Pack 3 converts all versions of Home Media Center and Tablet Pc to Professional status.
2. Windows XP Service Pack 3 Contain's a updated MSO.DLL for Microsoft Office if you are running a illegal or patched version you will find them disabled after installing service pack 3.
3. Yes Windows xp service pack 3 is faster and more stable and shorter to install then Microsoft's windows vista service pack which has to restart 4 times before finishing it's installer.
4. There is a updated Version of nlite if you want to stream your windows xp service pack 3 into your Windows cd.
5. Do not run X-windows vista transformation pack as it hasn't been tested with service pack 3 yet.
I so far am impressed with service pack 3 works nice. |

6. It's a Windows product, so it's actual behaviour is likely to be very different from what Redmond claims.
The only difference I noticed when I installed Windows with SP3 (admittedly an early version) was that everytime I tried to copy a file from one folder to another it told me "There may be risks with this page" |
