Mac Mini Arcade
Friday August 26, 2005
Aspyr Media began shipping LEGO Star Wars and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2005 this week. Both games are great fun and able to run on the Mac mini. Aspyr Media also announced it plans to publish The Sims 2 University, the first expansion pack for the hit game The Sims 2 in November. The game will require the original Sims 2 to run.
LEGO Star Wars
LEGO Star Wars allows players to re-live the most memorable scenes from the prequel Star Wars film trilogies as unique LEGO characters. Licensed from LucasArts, LEGO Star Wars was produced by Giant Interactive Entertainment and developed for the Mac by i5works.
For the first time ever, one of the worlds most successful film series meets one of the world's favorite toys in an epic new video game. LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game features a game world and characters built from virtual LEGO bricks that allows gamers to play through the whole story of Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Episode II: Attack of the Clones and Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
Gamers can play as more than 40 of their favorite Star Wars characters through more than 18 levels, experiencing the entire storyline of the first three movies in the Star Wars saga with plenty of action, puzzles, and unique Star Wars humor. Additionally, players can enjoy a two-player cooperative play mode that lets a second player drop in and out of the action without interrupting gameplay.
From Podracing on Tatooine and the battle to repel the droid onslaught on Geonosis, to Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn's fateful fight with Darth Maul, LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game provides an immersive Star Wars experience, with the added unique take on the Star Wars fantasy that the LEGO toy line brings.
System requirements for the Mac version are: Mac OS X 10.3.8 or later; a PowerPC G4/G5 1.2GHz processor or better; 512MB of RAM; 2GB of free hard drive space; an ATI Radeon 9000 or better - Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 or better with at least 32MB of VRAM; and a DVD drive.
The game is rated "E" for "Everyone" by the ESRB and is available for $29.99
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2005
Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 2005 challenges you to take on the man who has changed golf forever -- Tiger Woods. After making a name for yourself on the Tour, tee off against legends including Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan to see how you stack up against the all-time greats.
The revolutionary new Tiger Proofing course alteration technology allows you to modify course dynamics and call out your PGA TOUR rivals by adding lengthier Tiger Tees, tighter fairways, dramatic undulations to greens, deeper bunkers, higher rough, and more. An enhanced Game Face featuring non-proportional bone scaling and texture blending creates incredibly realistic looks, right down to the bags under your eyes.
System requirements for the Mac version are: Mac OS X 10.3.8 or later; a PowerPC G4/G5 1.2GHz processor or better; 256MB of RAM; 2.5GB of free hard drive space; an ATI Radeon 9000 or better - Nvidia GeForce FX5200 or better with at least 32MB of VRAM; and a DVD drive.
The game is rated "E" for "Everyone" by the ESRB and is available for $39.99

I'm not a big Star Wars fan but LEGO Star Wars is addictive. We've got several other Star Wars games for our PS2 including Battlefront and they have all pretty much been relegated to the shelf since we picked up LEGO. Something about seeing stuff blow-up into little LEGO pieces that go clattering all over the floor. Just too much fun. _________________ 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

That game looks fun! Do you use a gamepad or keyboard for control? _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)
