|
|
I was wondering, what can cause an iPod to die?
I've seen multiple format problems, but only a few fatal.
Battery death is rare if people take good care of them.
Click wheel going out I've only seen once, and the wheel had the symbols wore off.
anything else to add to this list? I mostly want to make a troubleshoot thread. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

A big drop!
The battery, screen or hard drive will probably get you way down the road. But in general, the iPod is a pretty solid device. |

A 300 lb. person sitting on it. I've seen it happen. Poor little iPod. _________________

i would say that time itself would ruin the ipod...also i would say that the battery in my ipod with dock connector only went bad because of its battery. but in the end i would say that if you take good care of your ipod then it will last it as long as you want it... _________________ 1.42 GHz Mac Mini; 512mb

Mine (4g) worked flawlessly for 3 years, then the battery became useless
So I upgraded it - wicked I thought, another 3 years to go.
Then the logic board died, so I sent it for repair (£90).
Wicked I thought, another 3 years to go.
Then the disk died
Sod it, I thought. I'm not spending another £90 to get it fixed
So I bought a new one (touch 16Gb) _________________ He's not all there.
