I guess there's always hope for the next firmware update. |

I've been kind of unhappy with my AirPort Extreme base station since buying it back in January. I would love to see Apple add the Time Machine functionally to the unit, but to be honest, they really need to fix the AirPort Disk feature in general first. It never seems to work right for me. |

I have a Time Capsule, and it hasn't been perfect either, especially when connecting to it using AirDisk in 10.4. But even in 10.5 its network response time / lag / latency for AFP shares (e.g. copying files to it) often throws Finder into a spinwheel or eventually fails.
Whatever is amiss with the implementation in Time Capsule (where there are even fewer varibles to consider), it may be more technically difficult to then go on and make corrections to the new Airport Extreme Base Station. _________________

I returned a Time Capsule because it was running insanely warm, so I'm back to using an AirPort Extreme. I only ran the Time Capsule for about 24 hours, but I noticed the same kind of occasional flakiness with AirDisk. Bonjour printing, on the other hand, continued to work beautifully. |
