Mouse & menus or keyboard shortcuts?

I admit that I predominantly use the mouse/trackpad to select from menus, but having learned a few keyboard shortcuts, I like to use them and notice the increased speed with which I can give commands to the computer.

I'm curious to know how other 123MM members prefer to control their apps....

I use a few of the standard keybaord shorcuts, but I'm mostly a clicker with the mouse. I would say breaks down 80/20.

I started trying to use keyboard shortcuts but I have to reach for the mouse for certain things and I would love to be able to ditch it full stop.

One thing I haven't managed to suss out yet is how to navigate app menu's via the keyboard without needing to know all the various shortcuts.

On windows the ALT key would trigger the menus and then you could cursor though the menu's Any idea how to do this on the mac?

Chalk up another clicker. I even have Expose and Spaces set to trigger with the extra buttons on my Logitech mouse. I will use keyboard shortcuts occasionally though. Mostly for taking screenshots, printing, quitting, and saving.

I use keyboard short cuts when ever possible, I use the mouse as little as possible, however, I don't think I could completely lose the mouse, some functions just go easier with the little bugger around. I try to remember as many kb sc's as possible. . . I've learned a whole bunch in the last 2 yrs or so..........

and don't forget sometimes it's a combo deal i.e. Command- click, etc. keyboard and mouse working in harmony!

I use an awful lot of key commands, but it depends on the application. In mail, I only use a few, but in Safari, I use a ton of them.

I use keyboard shortcuts wherever possible, which i find much more comfortable using and it's faster.

What I REALLY like is some of the multi-touch features on the MacBook Air and such, its clear to me that more of these features could be added to all notebooks in future.
For example the fact I could go forward and back using 3 fingers on the trackpad was like a breath of fresh air to me.
Not to mention all these multi-touch patents popping up from Apple excites me, seeing all these interesting gestures that can go along with your macro commands. It could possibly speed up your productivity too.

I use a mixture of both but predominantly the mouse because I'm just to lazy to learn all the possible shortcuts - I also get confused with the shortcuts that mean one thing in one app and something else in another.

Predominately use the keyboard shortcuts, but if I have my hand on the mouse then I'll right click. It's all about keeping the work flow going!

If it's on the HTMac, then it's mostly mouse and menus, since the keyboard is off to the side and I don't want to bother with it.

I think the right button (and the scroll wheel) are indispensable. I'll never understand why Apple kept to its 1 button mouse for so long - the OS was already two button friendly.

maybe it was onother of their warped marketing tactics "With a mac you only need one mouse button!".

BTW Smithy, remember you can use the free Teleport to run all your Mac from one mouse and keyboard. I thoroghly recommend it.

Never heard of it, but the HTMac already has it's own Logitech wireless set up. It's the purty slim white set up. I like the mouse because the scroll wheel also does the left/right thing in addition to the vertical scroll.
