It has been two weeks since Jobs promised an upgrade and no Apple TV 2.0 software release yet. What's the hold up? I want to play with the new software.

I just wonder if there are some last minute dealings going on with the movie studios? With the exception of the Flickr demo, the software seemed to be working fine at Macworld.

I've got a couple comrades saying they have 1080P listed as an option. I can't find it on mine. I'm sure it is "upscaled".

Engadget has a screenshot in their review showing 1080p. Upscaling should only occur when the source material is less than 1080p, which at this point is probably everything, including HD rentals from the iTunes store, however it leaves it open for 1080p podcasts, 1080p home movies from iMovie, and future 1080p rentals or iTunes Store purchases.

Anyone else hate the new interface as much as I do? I used to be able to see the sync'd files, then go to Sources and stream, but now it's only one or the other, and apparently we've lost the ability to stream from multiple libraries. I don't like upgrades that DOWNGRADE the usefulness of a product.
Anyone know of any hacks going on to give us the old interface while still retaining the new 5.1 capability, as that's all i really wanted out of the update. |
