Macessity Intros LowKey Stand
Thursday, January 31, 2008
Posted by: Glenn
Macessity today introduced the LowKey Stand, a new monitor stand designed specifically for owners of the Apple aluminum keyboard. According the company, "The perfect height of the stand provides a home for your keyboard, nothing will ever seem to be out of place on your desk any more. The LowKey Stand is constructed of 0.1085" thick steel, powder-coated in aluminum color matching that of the iMac or Apple Cinema Display. This stand spreads out the entire length of the slim keyboard and 9" deep, creating a sturdy structure, which can support any size of Apple Cinema Display or iMac." The stand also features a front 4-port USB 2.0 Hub that is self-powered. The LowKey Stand will begin shipping on February 15th with a suggested retail price of $59.99.

| That looks cool. I might buy one if Apple ever updates the Cinema displays again. |

Me too.
I can't believe Apple doesn't care about selling displays, but apparently that's the case. |

Actually it's more to the point that there is little, if any, profit in displays. The market is seeing over supply and price drops as a result.
But I really don't want a schmaltzy Samsung in high-gloss black. I'd much prefer Apple's industrial design, just at a realistic price. |

Agree and with a built in webcam... If only the Dell displays were not as expensive here (same thing as Apple, they turn the $ into € but Dell even charges extra + shipping! BTW saw a new white and silver 22" display from Acer, of course with Dvi. _________________ ___________________Jim©

I wouldn't mind having one for my G5, but sixty bucks seems a little high. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Plus it doesn't look good in my opinion, 1) USB should be at the back, control Leds at the front 2) the hub is on one side, makes the picture uneven...
Just my $ 0,02... _________________ ___________________Jim©

I don't mind the looks. I think it would match most of Apples products. I don't think they thought it through all the way though. It's designed to be able to slide the new Apple Keyboard under it. What about the mouse that's plugged into the keyboard So, using this you have to unplug your mouse every time you want to slide the keyboard out of the way!?!?!!? _________________ Automotive Digital Marketing

That is a good point. It's hard telling, but there might be enough room in there to accommodate a USB plug sticking out. It looks pretty tight though. I guess if that doesn't work out, there's always the wireless Mighty Mouse. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)
