I have been a Firefox guy on the PC since FF came out so naturally I installed it on my mini, but FF seems a bit sluggish compared to Safari. I know that Safari is supposed to be one of the fastest browsers around and I like it except for the way it handles bookmarks. I have two problems:
1. I like to have the bookmark pane open on the left side of the browser window and Safari doesn't do this that I can tell
2. Safari won't arrange my bookmarks alphabetically and that's driving me CRAZY.
So what does everyone use? Oh and if you can tell me how to fix the alphabetical issue that would be great too

I'm using Firefox. Safari seemed to hang on me. I've only had my mini for a week.

Safari, I haven't played with other apps that much on my Mini; still waiting for a gig of RAM. I think I'll go over to Firefox, though, but I've heard that Camino is faster. Desafortunadamente, Camino (get it?) doesn't support XUL, so it's a no-go for me right now. The whole point of Firefox (besides standards, though that seems to exclude layers, yes Firefox doesn't support all standards correctly) is it's XUL extensibility. I like Safari a lot, especially the nice brushed metal. _________________ Computer Engineer

I just downloaded Camino and all I can say is it is pretty awesome! It is way faster than Safari on my Mini!! I think it looks good as well, something of a cross between Safari and I.E. I did download I.E. yesterday, and decided I just couldn't do that to my mini..so I scrapped it! Love Camino, I suggest trying it. www.caminobrowser.org That's the best way to find out which one works best for you. So far since I have used Camino today, I haven't had the error "Unable to find server and you are not connected to the internet" Which I had at least three times today alone on Safari. I'm not blaming Safari for it, it just hasn't happened yet with this browser. Good Luck! _________________ Mac: Mac mini 1.42 512MB |

Thanks Phil,
I downloaded it and so far, I like it! Fast! And it has a real "Mac" look to it. Very comfortable to use. Time will tell, but I think I may have found what I was looking for in a Browser. |

Exactly how I felt after downloading it! The only thing I have found so far that I like in Safari over Camino is the private browsing feature and it seems to play some Quicktime clips smoother than Camino. All in all though, I'm on Camino. _________________ Mac: Mac mini 1.42 512MB |

OmniWeb 5.1 Can synch book marks to a WebDAV server (.Mac), better history, bookmarks can open in the same or in a new window. Best of all, Workspaces keep a history of sites for a specific need (personal, photography, forum sites, etc.) and take a snapshot when you're done. Choosing the workspace brings you right back to all of the open tabs (which are located on the side, unlike Safari) Worth a try:

Does the Mac version have Find As You Type like the Windows version? That's the most important feature IMHO of Firefox. I don't think another browser has it. _________________ Computer Engineer
