How well do the built in ones work since it might be a while after I buy an iMac before I get some externals. _________________ "You must control your future by taking command of your present, and fixing and learning from your past."

I use a now aging JBL Creatures system - they look great but I'd much prefer a standard knob volume control than the touch sensitive one. They sound good but a little bright at times.
I'm intrigued by the Monsoon flat panel speaker previously mentioned, but although I can find plenty of raving reviews of them, I'm struggling to find any UK stockists. Speakers are things you really need to listen to before buying, so getting them off the internet is far from ideal. It might be a blessing, as I really shouldn't be spending more money on this sexy mac-mini lol. |

I don't know why more people who are serious about their sound quality don't use this kind of set-up. An average sounding active computer speaker system will cost between £150-£200, and that kind of money can get you a decent amp and bookshelf speaker combo that will blow any computer-speaker system out of the water. |

$250 each and $300 for the sub (I got them for much less.) Yeah, they have plenty of volume, but they are used for audio production and are studio mastering monitors. Nicely accurate. Recommended to me by a friend who is a very successful producer/engineer. _________________ MBP 2.4 C2D; 4GB

I'm using Creative Inspire T3000, cheap, but they do the job down here. I may upgrade sometime, but for now, they're fine. I have to get speakers for the PeeCee since I got rid of the p.o.c. monitor that came with it which had speakers built-in. _________________ 2.5 GHZ i5 Mac Minu 8Gb Ram

| I use Harman Kardon on the Mini and Bose on the Air. I personally like the Harman Kardon speakers a bit more. |
