Miglia today began shipping its TVMini2 digital tuning device for Mac users. According to the company, "TVMini2 is the smallest avaliable digital TV for your Mac. It slots neatly into a USB 2.0 port, without blocking any other ports/outlets. Despite, its incredibly small size the TVMini2 is powered by a high performance Tuner and Demodulator, which creates a much higher performance when it comes to signal reception." It also comes with the latest version of The Tube from Equinox, which now includes Timed Recording, an Electronic Program Guide (EPG), a new EPG Mode, support for the open XMLTV standard and more. The TVMini2 is priced at £59.99 or €78.99 for European customers.

For some reason they chose to go with MP2 for this box.
Why didn't they go with MP4 and direct compatibility with iTunes? |

From their website:
"TVMini² captures your TV shows in pristine MPEG-2 digital quality, without modifying what is broadcast by TV stations (MPEG-2 is the video format used on DVDs)."
It's a digital receiver that simply sends over-the-air MPEG-2 data to your computer, not a real-time encoder. _________________ Mac mini 2010 (Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz/8 GiB)

DVB-T only so far. ATSC/QAM formats in the States can't use this.
Also interesting about The Tube software, since Miglia and Elgato had a falling out awhile back. I wonder if the $80 retail version of EyeTV will support this. _________________
