B.T.O Price drops!
MacRumors users have reported B.T.O price cuts two weeks into production. The company is now offering the Bluetooth and AirPort Extreme wireless option for US$99 (was $129), the 1GB DDR333 SDRAM upgrade for $325 (was $475), and the 80GB ultra ATA hard drive upgrade for $50 (was $80). Apple is also now listing an 8x SuperDrive option instead of the previous 4x model for the same.

For mom and pop its easy for them to pay the extra few bucks and just let Apple install it. My mom is not going to crack a mini case open with a putty knife. _________________ 1.25GHz Mac Mini / 1.8GHz iMac G5 / 2.0GHz C2D Mac mini (2009)

Any idea when the change may be effective? I see the prices have changed but the drive is still listed as a 4x. _________________ "...if you get confused listen to the music play..."

Following yesterday's price drops on certain build-to-order (BTO) Mac mini components, Apple said it will refund the difference to affected purchasers, according to MacMinute readers. "I spoke with Apple Customer Service this afternoon and they will honor price protection for those that purchased the mini within the last 14 days. You must call," a MacMinute reader writes. As reported yesterday, Apple quietly cut prices on the BTO components for its new Mac mini, offering the Bluetooth and AirPort Extreme wireless option for US$99 (was $129), the 1GB DDR333 SDRAM upgrade for $325 (was $475), and the 80GB ultra ATA hard drive upgrade for $50 (was $80). |

I got an email from Apple (NL store) today that my order is lowered in price according to the price drop. 30 Euro's off, Great!
Maybe I'll change my order to include a 1Gb upgrade. I know it's cheaper to do it myself but I don't like the hassle an the risk my ordered module won't work. _________________ MAC MINI/1.42/1GB/100G/SD/AP/BT/N |
